Recently several of us here at JP Lizzy HQ got to talking about the fact that while we spend a lot of time designing the outside look of our bags, it’s often the inside prints and patterns that get people so excited.
We always just assumed that people were more focused on the outside beauty of the bags. Turns out, the inside beauty of our styles is what truly captivates the women who carry them.
No doubt you’ve heard it before…inner beauty is more important than outer beauty. It’s a message that is told to us from the time we are little girls. Yet for many of us, our resources are mainly put towards improving our outer beauty.
The truth is, while we may think people are paying the most attention to our outer beauty, it’s the inner beauty that is really being noticed.
Take some time today to focus on the most important beauty you have – the kind that lives on the inside.
So how do you nurture your inner beauty?
Here are 5 tips to help you get started:
1. Be true to yourself
Living your life pleasing others and making choices that are out of alignment for you is the best way to dim that inner beauty. We are all unique human beings, but we often feel we have to follow other people’s rules. Find out who YOU are and live your truth to the fullest!
In our society it’s very easy to let work and “busyness” take over our lives. But being a work-a-holic is a good way to create burnout and depression. Turn the computer off at night and enjoy some downtime. Find balance in your life – whatever that looks like for you. You’ll be happier and that inner beauty will shine brighter.
3. Give to others by sharing your gifts
Step into your power. This of course goes along with #1! You may love to organize, or crunch numbers, or give makeovers or business advice. Whatever it is you’re good at – share it with others. You’ll be helping them, and helping yourself feel amazing in the process.
4. Smile more
Studies show that putting a smile on your face, even if you’re not feeling it, can change your mood. A smile is contagious too. Spread the joy by smiling more and watch your insides start smiling more too.
5. Treat yourself
As women and mothers, we often tend to our family’s and friend’s needs before our own. Then we feel guilty for treating ourselves. Don’t do it! Treat yourself on a regular basis. Whether it’s reading a book, taking a walk, taking a beach vacation or getting a massage, take the time to treat yourself and watch your confidence – and your inner beauty – shine! You deserve it!
